I told Shaylee she was lucky she was a sister missionary because she didn't have to help people move like the elders here do.

 This week was interesting. I popped popping corn in a pot for the first time :D and it was amazing :D I’m the bestest popper in the house! Haha. 

 

On Canada day, Hna Peña surprised me with a sign and complñetos to celebrate. They were so yummy,I love completos :D

The completo is a hot dog variation eaten in Chile, usually served with ingredients such as chopped tomatoes, avocados, mayonnaise, sauerkraut, a variation of the sauce américaine, Chilean chili, green sauce and cheese.

 It’s been kind of a hard week with the cold, lots of knocking doors, and investigators not progressing, but yesterday Diego (13) came to church alone and wants to be baptized. I asked him what he liked about the message we share. He gave me a duh look and said I like it because its true. Ha-ha I was like yep it is :D and I really, truly do know that it’s true with all of my heart I do. If I wasn’t way beyond knowing its true I wouldn’t be here. I am here because this is the truth. I embrace it, I love it and I share it. 

 

Belen 28 yrs old, called this morning to tell us she read her homework and more in the Book of Mormon :D Yay!!!!!!

 Prez May is here. I’m going to meet him on Friday, I’m so excited! :D

I had a fantastic cambio with Hna Ricagno on Tuesday, seriously it was like heaven. She’s the comp I’ve had the longest and I needed that familiarity for a while.

Jose's Baptism

Dad's apartment is a lot nicer than our mission house ha-ha :D I’m so glad you got to go up there :D, things have been good. Jose did go through with his baptism. They baptized him wrong, with the left arm to the square, not the right but the witness´ said it was good and so did the bishop, so the zone leaders said we just have to leave that one up to the lord even though we know it was wrong. I called them on it while we were there too, soo.... bueno?  His youngest brother is going to be baptized on the 16 with Jose’s best friend ha-ha :D

  It’s been a little weird in the house... I love Hna Hall. Hna Wrights good, but she thinks if I’m not bouncing of the walls somethings wrong.  She keeps telling everyone I have stomach problems, or need to see a doc, and wants me to go home to sleep every day :P She’s super new to the mission, just came out of her training ha-ha. Hna Hall’s having it rough too she hates when people are very dependent, and Hna Peña (Chilean) asks her for permission to use the bathroom when we are in the house at night.  We're both going crazy but that’s alright :D. I made a pancake breakfast for Hna Wrights birthday and this sign for Hna Peñas arrival :D

 

 We had a miracle this week. The other day I was looking for a less active member with Hna Wright and Hna Peña, and I kept having my attention pulled to a different house down the street. Hna Hall was at a leaders meeting in Concepcion with Ricagno, so we were on splits. I drug them all down to it and I hit the speakerphone like five times and finally a 25 yr. old girl answers and lets us in. Her name is Leslie, she’s cool, and her 18 year old sister Cecilia, was there, and then her parents came. It was seriously one of the most spiritual lessons I’ve taught :D ha-ha. Her parents walked in right as we were about to challenge them for baptism so no date for them yet ha-ha. Leslie has a 4 yr. old daughter, is single, and is in university. I’m really excited for them :D We found 9 new investigators this week :D The closest I’ve come to that was 8, in my second week here :D yay! 

 

Chile also won the Copa America Soccer Cup on Sunday, and let me say, I did not sleep ha-ha it was crazy! Hna Peña was pulling some serious apostasy with her prayers when we heard the celebration start-up! Haha, we had to be in our house when the game started, it was sketch in the streets :P  The celebration was insane!!!! I have some videos from out my window but the internet is too slow :( that’s why I'm writing on Tuesday, just for this week because it was game day, everything was closed and people were all in their houses ha-ha. 

 Hna Peña was way to happy she was pretty much crying kissing her Chilean jersey ha-ha she’s cute :D

What else happened...... oh yeah we were getting ready to go to the district meeting, Hna Wright jumped on the wrong bus and paid before I even knew what was happening, so I had to jump on after her! We took like an hour to get there :P   I was so bus sick.

Happy Birthday Aunt Letje and Crew! 

 

So this week was nuts :D 

Yesterday Jose, the oldest gangster boy, came to church on his own.  The bishop pulled him into a room in front of the baptismal font and five min later called us in to tell us he had an announcement for us, and Jose was like "I’m getting baptized on Saturday!" I started crying :D  it was epic, that kid had his heart changed :D

 I got transferred this morning :D I’m now the comp of Hna Wright from Oregan, she’s pretty gangster herself, calls me the Nels, and is a diehard One Direction fan ha-ha!  She turns 20 on Friday and just finished her training yesterday :D Today we are going to a restaurant to celebrate Hna Wright’s birthday cause we live in the same house. She is one of the sisters I have been living with since I was last transferred. ha-ha I’m just changing bedrooms, cellphone, and investigators ha-ha :D so it’s going to be really weird.

Hna Ricagno is training again! That’s 2 little hermanitas now and she’s still the sister training leader, she’s a maquina (machine)ha-ha. 

 

 I found hibiscus flowers to eat :D they were actually really yummy :D whoohoo! :D I’m seriously just so grateful for you guys :D Also it is freezing at this moment :P

Ward Talent Show

estamos bien aquí, encontramos un joven bueno contactando en frente de la iglesia en sábado con el obispo millar. :D el es bueno y vino a la iglesia :D yay! estamos veyendo milagros ;D oooh mama1 me hizo llorar! ( ha-ha wow sorry English is better right :D I’m so jealous I love Wendy Nelson!!! Ha-ha I wish I could have seen Taya dancing with Shelby in the 4-H auction :D I miss being in on the fun. :D I totally understand the schedule thing. I’m usually asleep before my head hits the pillow, and I wake up rolling out of my blanket’s :P  It’s going to be nice to sleep in once in a while. :D

Today we went to the only American Burger place in our misión its called Jack’s and it was heaven!!! Just after we got there an obviously gringo walks in and sat behind us, after he finished he came over to chat and he is an RM from this mission before the mission split, he is from Nashville so that was cool then he left and we waited for Hna Anunciacoa to finish her food (she slow)  we went to pay and our gringo friend already paid for us :D  We were like wow, there really are good people in the world! ha-ha it was so nice :D Hna Anuncianoa goes home on Sunday and she is freaking out ha-ha :D so we're just doing everything she wants to today.

 

 

We taught a lesson in English to a man named Jared from Regon and it was so hard!!!!!!!! Ha-ha the prayer about killed me. :D Then we had a talent show and let’s say the Latinos go all out on the talent shows, the relief society danced to single ladies, and they were good :D ha-ha we did a Dear Jane skit ha-ha I have a recording but it won’t send :( well, you’ll see it in the spring :D  and the misión nurse told me I have to eat more sugar ha-ha I guess I’m to healthy.

 I need to buy new shoes ha-ha mine are literally full of holes, is it possible for you to order online the ones I have and have them shipped directly here or no?

ha-ha now the Hna’s want to go get ice cream because we have extra money :D

Power of The Priesthood

My week has been crazy but good :D The new and exciting part is that we’re going to have new pres. in 6 weeks. We had to stop teaching the gangster boys, and we found a 17 yr. old girl named Carolina who is 8 months pregnant and has a baptism date set for about the same time as her due date, so that should be interesting! ha-ha she’s cool.

 I’m so glad Riley had a great time.  I got super sick on his birthday. Sunday I threw up and only got to go to sacrament, but I’m totally fine now. We had Bro Claudio come give me a blessing and he commanded the sickness to leave :D YAY! 

We had FHE or noche de hogar in our house and I provided brazo de reina (Queen's Arm) for our treat :D Hna Wright loved it!
 

 Hna Ricagno and I had an intercambio :D  Please don’t judge the pic, she was sick and it was waay early in the morning :D  She only has 4 cambios left! Yikes! We had so much fun, I cried a lot too. :) She sees right through me. She told me that, quite often people see someone they know that I’m like when they look at me (I think Shaylee was having a little trouble with her English here, not sure how to translate her Spanglish brain), but that I need to be humble enough to give them the chance to really see me because I’m amazing. Ha-ha and that the person least likely in the world to hurt me is my comp cause it’s exactly who God wants me with in this time of my life and I just cried. I love her so much :D she’s tired ha-ha you can always tell the older missionaries, they get TIRED beyond belief ha-ha, they’re super happy too. :D I’m happy :D 

 

If you look way in the back of the scenery, you will see a snowy peak, that is the active volcano :D It’s pretty. usually the missionaries take a trip up there every cambio but prez has forbidden it for our safety. :( So sad.

La Hermanita (The Little Sister)

 I was having a really hard week and cambio. Ha-ha I’ll bet it shows in my pics there’s only a few. I take waay more pics when I’m happy :D but last night Hna Hall was finally sick of iceberging me and broke down and we had a nice long "let it all out" session at a bus stop. Ha-ha, helps no one here understands English. We both feel a lot better now and we had a lesson right after. Yonaton (14) decided he is going to start, and finish the Book of Mormon in 4 weeks, before Hna Hall does. Should be interesting, I told him there are wars, and hunting, and lots of crazy stuff in there :D We also had a successful companion study this morning and picked a comp scripture explaining how we live after the manner of happiness. :D we're working together now. YAY!!!! It made such a big difference already :D

 

 The gangsters are not getting baptized this week because they skipped church for fùtbol again >:( bad gangsters!

 

I had an intercambio with Hna Gladino la hermanita :D and I really loved it! She left me a note that said she knows we were buddies in the preexistence and I totally believe it :D She is soo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had so much fun :D I loved it :D and I’m hoping in my intercambio tomorrow I’ll get to go with Ricagno, it would be so fun!

Last night we were with the gangster kids and Hna Hall’s eye contact slipped so she just took it out, they were like what is THAT? They had never seen one before, or heard of one, their dad either. I was like yep different world here.

Missionary Dress Revised

esta semena era muy genial yo aprende muchas cosas buenas acerca de la amor por las personas. hna hall ha sido un poco inferma de la estomago durante el semana pero es mucho mejor ahora :D estoy esforzando me a hacer algo amable por me compañeras cada semana por esta año y esta me ayuda mucho a amarles como mi mismo. :D estamos trabajando con un familia de jovenes un poco flighties pero ellos son muy buenos y queran aprender  solomente tienen a dejar a jugar futbal los domingos jaja haha

I called Margaret this morning and she’s doing great ha-ha,except she saw the fires up north on T.V. and was super worried about you guys :D she’s awesome. Margereth Chiquita is getting baptized Saturday and Margaret is giving her first talk on the first Sunday of June :D Margaret sends her love by the way.

 

 We are also prepping these punks for a 4th of June baptism :D super gangsters. We played Uno last night with them to soften them up for the no football (Soccer) on Sundays talk. :D

 

 

We went to Hna Armindas house, she is from Paraguay she taught us how to make soap eye pillas and completos this morning it was fun :D she’s hilarious :D

Dress guidelines for missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been revised for men and women serving in areas around the world impacted by mosquito-borne viral diseases such as Dengue Fever, Chikungunya and Zika. The new missionary health and safety guidelines were announced by the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles Friday, May 20, 2016.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announces revised dress guidelines for sister missionaries in areas of the world affected by mosquito-borne diseases.

In the 230 missions, or roughly half of the Church's missions, where there is significant risk of mosquito-borne diseases, missionaries are strongly encouraged to wear clothing that covers exposed skin, especially arms and legs. Sister missionaries serving in the affected missions are encouraged to wear full-length dress slacks during proselyting activities. They will continue to wear skirts or dresses when attending the temple and during Sunday worship services, conferences and baptismal services. In areas where it is not acceptable for women (including sister missionaries) to wear dress slacks, they are encouraged to wear long skirts to protect themselves from mosquito bites.

The new guidelines apply only during the wet seasons, when the risk for mosquito-borne illnesses is high. Information is being sent to all mission presidents and will also be provided to newly called missionaries. Those areas include parts of Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Mexico, Pacific, Philippines and South America.

In addition, the Church has announced it will now pay for permethrin insecticide solution and DEET-containing insect repellant for all missionaries worldwide. Full-time missionaries in mosquito-infested areas have been encouraged for many years to wear permethrin-treated clothing and regularly apply DEET-containing repellants.

“We are encouraging and training our missionary force to implement these preventative measures and would also encourage the general membership to consider these measures for themselves and their families,” added Elder Schwitzer.

“We will continue to monitor and evaluate the spread of these diseases and, where needed, make adjustments in these guidelines, giving highest priority to missionary health and safety,” said the statement from the First Presidency. “We continue to recommend that missionaries avoid stagnant and standing water, where possible, particularly around residential areas and in their apartments.”
